Starting February 16, 7,000 establishments, among shopping malls, streets and specialized zones will participate in the Discount Route with sales from 10% to 70%, joining Bogota Fashion Week. Next February 20 a new version of ´Bogota Awake` will take place.

Last year, in its first edition, Bogota Fashion Week attracted more than 12,000 national buyers and 500 international ones. This year, considering that Fashion Week is the main international communication and business platform for the fashion industry in Colombia and since it represents an immense commercial opportunity, the challenge is to exceed last year’s numbers and count with more than 60,000 visitors, 13,000 national buyers and more than 1,000 foreigners.

The director of FENALCO BOGOTA, Francisco Ochoa Palacio, indicated that the participation of the commerce sector is necessary to make this sector more dynamic in this date and at the same time benefit the consumer in price matters and sales.

He also explained that the commerce establishments that will be joining this activity will be identified with a distinctive Fashion Week sticker. Some of the participating areas are leather, clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, airlines, tourism, hotels, bars and restaurants.

“The commerce sector will dispose of 1,000 discount guides with information of participating establishments. These will be distributed at shopping malls, department stores and through 10,000 cab drivers that will be promoting the activity in Bogota,” added Ochoa Palacio expressing his support to commercial and economic development of the capital.

II INTERNATIONAL BOGOTA FASHION WEEK is a business and innovation stage that integrates productive fashion chains in a public-private alliance created with the objective of strengthening economic development strategies of the sector, presenting collections for more than 620 entrepreneurs (designers, tailors, jewelers, etc).
